HOME STYLE CHICKEN CURRY

"Chicken"-  this word triggers a load number mouthwatering dishes in a person's brain. There are many dishes of chicken like the biryani, chicken butter masala, chicken tikka and the list goes on. But there is also a recipe of chicken, which may not be available in any restaurants that is the village style/ home style of cooking chicken.  Like other recipes of chicken which requires many ingredients, this one requires simple ingredients,which is easily available in the kitchen. So here are the easy and quick steps to cook this delicious yummy recipe.
YUMMY CHICKEN CURRY

INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 medium sized onion
  • 1 tomato  
  • 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
  • 1 bulb of garlic
  • 2-3 green chilies
  • 1 large piece ginger
  • 1 teaspoon peppercorn
  • 2 tablespoon curd
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 4-5 tablespoon mustard oil
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon chicken masala
  •  1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of coriander powder
PROCEDURE:

STEP 1:
The first step to cook the chicken is to clean it properly and marinate it with curd,turmeric powder and salt. The reason behind marinating the chicken with curd is that it makes the chicken soft and delicious. Let the chicken get marinated for half an hour and while it gets marinated,chop the garlic,onions, chilies,tomato into finely small pieces.

STEP 2:
In the second step heat a pan. Add mustard oil to it and let it heat for some time. Once the oil is hot add some cumin seeds to it,when the cumin seeds starts crackling add chopped garlic pieces, onions chilies and tomato pieces to it. Fry it for sometime and while the veggies get fried , take a mixer add the peppercorn and grind  it to a fine powder. By this time the veggies will start turning red and tomato pieces will become soft.

STEP 3:
In the next step start adding the coriander powder, peppercorn powder,red chili powder and,chicken masala powder. Cook  it for 5-10 minutes,and then add the chicken to it. Once the chicken goes into the pan, higher the flame of the gas and cook the chicken for 15  minutes. After this lower the flame and add some water to the chicken and put a lid on the pan let it get cooked 20-25 minutes.

STEP 4:
After 20-25 minutes remove the lid of the pan and check whether the chicken has become soft and u can cook the chicken for more time to make it dry. Chicken curry is ready serve it with hot chappatis.
